Life
Three wonderful children: Melissa, 33, Michael, 30 & Matthew 21. No grandchildren yet - No one is in a hurry, I taught them too well, maybe someday, Ha!! Michael works full time in management and is a full time college student. Matthew is a full time college student, with football scholarship. Melissa works hard, but has a blast working as a bartender in a very nice restaurant. Motherhood is the best thing that I was ever blessed with and I am very close with my children. Only my youngest lives at home in summers & holiday when not at college. I miss having them around, but we see each other as often as possible. Although I worked all my life, I am disabled now due to a number of auto-amune diseases like Lupus (SLE), Hashimotos, RA, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, etc & orthopedic problems. Really don't know How I got so lucky?? I worked full time, took care of my family, was very athletic, cyclist, softball, racquet ball, coached little league, swimming, love gardening, on & on - then wham! Just never know what will happen, enjoy every minute, be grateful for your health! My full time job now is doctors, meds, hospitals & surgery. Just staying alive! Been hard on all of us.
My husband is in law enforcement, at least we have decent insurance and disability. I would trade it all back in a heart beat for my health back! Lupus h...Expand for more

Now for something completely different... I was getting too serious and I am too tired!
My dog, Ripley, a yellow lab mix named for Sigorney Weaver's character in Aliens, is now my "four legged daughter". She takes good care of me trough my ups and downs getting used to the empty nest syndrome. My other other dog, Mutley , was too sick to go on, so at 13 yrs., he had to go to the great dog park in the sky last July. Our cat "Chief" made it 18+ years, he went down about 7 years earlier. The herd is shrinking. Yes, we are animal people. I don't think there is any animal we haven't had at one time or another. Animals bring peace and calm into my life. usually! I just adopted a little black lab mix female when she was 5 months. I always go to the pounds & rescue places to find our pets. She has been named Scully, for yes another sci-fi diva FBI Agent Dana Scully from X-Files! I like those strong women hero types. She was found on the street with her brother and they think they had been out there alone for a while as she was mostly ferrel. It has been a tough 7 months now, but she a great pup - almost understand everything! She didn't even know how to let someone pet her. Weird thing. She's a trip!
