Karen's Story
Life
I am the proud mom of two children, Sara and Sam, by my husband of a little over 11 years. My children are my life...but I do find time to work (ughh!). Seriously, I love my job. There are very few that are as rewarding. I am a 5th Grade Teacher and have been teaching for 13 years. My husband is a network administrator (aka computer nerd). We live in Munford, I work in Talladega, and he commutes to Birmingham (I couldn't do it). We have been together for almost 13 years. We met in Montgomery though he is also from Talladega. College
I loved college, and some of my best friends today are still the friends I met there. After 2 years at Faulkner, I transferred to JSU where I received my degreee in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.
Workplace
The first job I really enjoyed was being headwaitress at Country's Barbecue in Montgomery. I worked there while attending school at Faulkner. Later, I worked at Winn Dixie in the office and as a cashier. After finishing college, I started teaching in Talladega and have been here ever since.
