Karen Hammond's Story

I stayed around Houston until 1983 then moved to San Antonio, met my current husband in 1984. He was playing guitar with a band in local clubs at the time. We have been married for almost 25 years. We started a sound company called carpe noctem sound. It was fun or a while and a lot of hard work and late nights which can get old fast! Like running sound for 21 bands in a row during south by southwest in Austin....Then we opened a guitar shop/conservatory in a small town near San Antonio eight years ago and have settled quite nicely into a workable business. now 18 and on his own, he graduated summa cum laud from a school gifted in arts and is now getting his basics out of the way going to a community college in SA and working for an inventory company. He has a wonderful long time girl friend that plans on becoming a doctor. I am still an artist. Started out in advertising for many years until replaced by the computer in the 90's. I then became a muralist and still currently do them occasionally and paint on canvas. I live in a country suburb outside San Antonio, love it, we have dogs, cats, deer, coyote's, we got it all out here. Have all I want, can't ask for much more...
