Karen's Story

I miss Texas and am not too crazy about Minnesota. It is beautiful, the two real months of summer we have, but winter and snow come very early and stay often through April. A blizzard hit before Halloween one year and it is still discussed by Minnesotans. I never though that I would end up this far north. I worked for years for Exxon-Mobil and British Petroleum, it was a real adjustment living in Minneapolis, and of course no jobs in the oil industry! So now I spent several months a year in Florida and work selling on Ebay with an occasional...Expand for more
web site design job. I have a son Sean who is still in Texas, he and my brother Sam live in Midland. My sister Rob and her husband John are building a home in Sante Fe, a time consuming but rewarding adventure. I am hoping we will be able to move further South permanently in a few years. I have fond memories of growing up in Monahans and wish the best for all the classmates of MHS. Well I am on my way to Florida permanently, We are trying to get out of MN and down to FL before the snow flies, not that far away up here, often before Halloween.

Up at Brasstown Bald National Park today. Misty and cool. The state's highest peak — 4,784 feet above sea level. Very steep hike!
