Karen's Story
I guess that in the last 25 years a lot has happened to each of us that attended Tower High School.
In short:
Joined the United States Air Force after a short time spent in California. I served our country for 5 years and I was stationed at Tinker AFB, OK as a member of the 3rd Combat Communications Group. I joined the Air Force in order to not have to play Army...and low and behold was assigned to one of the 5 combat communication groups in all of the Air Force..... I wore my blues 3 times in 5 years. I was not only able to serve this great country..but the Air Force allowed me to visit many countries and different cultures.
It was in the Air Force that I met and married Gregory L. Vaughn. We were blessed with a beautiful little girl that we named Megan Elizabeth. The Lord had much better plans for her and we lost her at 6 months old. She is perfect in heaven and I am strong in my faith to know that she is in a beautiful place and not having to endure any of the severe handicaps that she was born with. vorced in 1989 but remained close. Again, the Lord had bigger plans for Greg and he joined Megan in 2007.
Since the Air Force, I moved back home to Michigan and lived mainly in the Clarkston area. In September of 2000 I moved to St Petersburg FL...where I still reside.
I currently work at Fidelity and work on my house CONSTANTLY....UGGGHHHH! I love the weather in Florida...but miss home very much. Would love to move home but our current economy has made this almost near impossible. Since selling my boat (salt water kills...lol) my weekends are spent working on the house and visiting the beach and tiki bars!!
Some of you may remember my sisters Dawn and Michelle. Dawn is married to Rob and they have a beautiful little girl named Alyssa. She started kindergarten this year. Michelle is married to Jason and has 3 children... two very handsome boys named Zachary and Jacob... and a beautiful little girl named Reese Renee. These 4 kids are my joy!
