Karen's Story
Went to Stillwell Junior High and then to Paxon Sr High (69). After graduation went into the United States Air Force along with my high school boyfriend Paul Garen Validictorium). We got married on base in Texas and I worked on base while he went through training school. We got order to go overseas (he to Vietnam and me to Headquarters in Germany). I traveled alot overseas and loved every minute of being in the military. Sometimes it was hard but it was a close family unit of service members. . We stayed together 3 1/2 yrs and divorced when I came back to the states(we were just too young). cum laude with majors in psychology/Theology. I met and married Fred Edwards while stationed at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL . He was married before too and had four children. Instant family! We have been married 34 years. Two old geezers still in love. We both went to work for the Veterans Hospital in Tampa after we left the military for 20plus years. Kids are grown and we have 3 grown grandchildren and an old dog whom we love and spoil.. We are retired now and I have some health problems so am on veterans disability . We have a 5th Wheel Trailer and love to travel the U.S. but not so much anymore. We have a nice small house with a pool in the hills of Brooksville, Florida. Life is shor;t so we try to enjoy as much of it as we can.
