Karen's Story
Graduated a year early in 1977. Went to work at one of the only fast foods that we had back then, while attending AVC. Went to AVC while dating Alan Hoover. Married in July 1979. Our 1st child was born in December of 1982, a daughter. Our 2nd child was born in August 1984, a son. We divorced in 1992. By then I was a parts & service manager for a major appliance repair business. The children & I moved to California City -- where we lived for 12 years.

Daughter is married living in Kansas & son is in the Army.
I have had cancer twice, but just passed the 20 year survival mark. I feel fortunate to have survived to see my children grow up & to welcome the arrival of my 1st biological grandson (acquired 2 granddaughters by marriage).
Update: July 21, 2011
Split up with my husband of 18 years & moved to Wichita, KS. Living near the grandchildren is wonderful & getting to spend time with my daughter is too! Life sometimes changes for a reason & I plan to embrace these changes because life is happier now & so MANY possibilities await!!
