Karen's Story

Hard to believe it's been 40 years! Short version of what I've been up to... I graduated from the U of Denver with BSBA in Marketing and a goal of working for a ski area. In 1985, I finally did when I moved to Sundance, UT and did marketing and administrative work for the ski area and Robert Redford. I moved back to CO in '87 to Keystone Ski Resort where I met my husband, Bill. In 1993, we moved to Carbondale, CO while Bill was Sr. VP for Aspen Skiing Co. and then he did consulting work in hospitality and created a not-for-profit healthcare system in the As...Expand for more
pen Valley. After years of shoveling snow, we moved to Maui in 2003 (after visiting many times). We raised our 2 boys, Coleby and Cameron here; Maui is a wonderful place for kids to grow up! No, they don't surf. We live "upcountry" at about 1400' elevation, where we don't need A/C or heat and enjoy the Tradewinds. Bill retired in 2012 and now we're trying to adjust to being empty nesters with both boys on the mainland. We travel back to Tulsa once or twice a year to visit my parents. I'm hoping to hear about a 40th reunion so I can schedule a trip around it!
