Karen's Story
Hello, Blue Devils!
Hope you all have been healthy and happy!
Wow...almost 50 years. Quite amazing.
Hubby & I graduated from Kansas State University, Jan. '69, journalism degrees. First, Decatur (Ill.) Review for 2 years and then the Providence (R.I.) Journal for 15 years. Then we moved to northern Virginia in 1985. I switched gears, moving into the Fairfax County school system.
Vern was the news editor & auto section editor for The Washington Times until recently retiring. He continues to write his antique automobile column with the Motor Matters syndicate. Love the auto industry...Expand for more
's perks. He weekly received a new car to test drive, and we flew to many terrific cities here and in Europe for new car introductions. A marvelous journey.
We have been married 47 years & have 2 sons & 2 daughters, all happily married and doing well in their chosen careers.
The greatest news is we all live fairly close in our beloved Old Dominion, so we can enjoy our 5 grandsons & 5 granddaughters. The two oldest just left for James Madison University and William & Mary.
We thank God for our many blessings.
I have such fond memories of C.H.S. & all of you.
Wishing you well,
Karen
