Karen's Story
in 2019, I retired after teaching music in the Riverside School District for 40 years. In May of 2020, I retired from serving as an adjunct music faculty member at Whitworth University for 25 years. It was a relief to only teach on-line music for seven weeks during the pandemic, but I do miss the special moments that teaching provides.
It’s hard to believe that in September we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of my husband, Bruce Baldwin, who graduated from CV in 1971, passing from Multiple Myeloma cancer. I remarried in December of 2012 and we are enjoying life with family, especially six grandkids.
My children are both married. Daughter, Michelle, teaches 3rd grade in Nampa, ID and is proud Mom to an 8 year old son and 5 year...Expand for more
old daughter. My son, Chris, works as an appraiser for Deschutes County in Bend, OR. He has two sons, ages 5 and 1. Don’s middle son lives near Denver and has two sons, ages 7 and 4. His other sons live in Spokane and Seattle. We are very proud of all our family and treasure every moment we get to spend together.
Currently we are building a home and shop in Redmond, OR and hope to be settled there before the end of 2021. This will allow us to spend more time with family and also give Don his woodworking space and me a place to get back to gardening and, possibly, teach some private music lessons, When we aren’t enjoying those activities you will find us on nearby golf courses or enjoying everything central Oregon has to offer.
