Karen's Story
Life
I have managed to avoid marriage, but not motherhood. My daughter is 23 and graduated with the class of 2000. Her father is deceased -- committed suicide in 1985. (Nice of him -- and you can take that any way you want to.) I left California in 1991, returned for a brief stay in 1997 until my mother died and returned to North Carolina. Moved to Florida in 2001.

Workplace
Lets see -- flipped burgers at Jack In The Box from 1980 until 1984. Worked for Wells Fargo...Expand for more
Alarm Services 1984 until 1991. Moved to Columbia South Carolina and worked for National Guardian (alarm company); realized I made a big mistake moving to that vile place and transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina until 1997. Stayed briefly in CA and worked for yet another alarm company PSI in Sunnyvale. Returned to North Carolina and worked for BellSouth Mobility DCS for 3 years until they were bought out by Cingular. Moved to Florida, had several temp jobs and then worked for yet ANOTHER alarm company 3 years. I Now work for Florida Relay (TTY/TDD relay center).
