Karen's Story
WEll, to recap my last 34 years of existence . . . After graduation I moved to White Rock with my folks. For the next few years I worked on and off, and travelled and lived in the States a bit. I was in Colorado for half a year and I also lived in California for a year while I was going to school there. This was not for any high or lofty ambitions, I just wanted to live in California and as a Canadian had to attend school to accomplish this. I met my husband there. We were married in '79, had a boy in '80, a daughter in '82 and another son in '93 (yes you read that right) We lived in Oregon and Washington and eventually settled in Lynden, where i now reside. d in 2005. I live with my younger son who is 14, in my home, work for a technology company here in Lynden. My daughter lives around the corner from me, is married and has two adorable, beautiful children. My grandson is 31/2 and my granddaughter is 7 months old. My older son lives in Seattle. My family of origin is all up in Canada and I see them all the time. I never did become a citizen here in the U.S.A. and now probably won't.
Interesting fact: I now live in the same town as my best friend all during junior high school (and my locker neighbor as our last names were only one letter off from each others) - Janet Mulder. KInd of funny considering we both moved around plenty of times both here and in Canada.
