Karen's Story

Life After Dickinson Matt and I moved to Arlington, VA. I began working for the US Dept of Treasury as a financial economist and he began working as a consultant for Accenture. We were married on June 23, 2002. We bought a house in Alexandria, VA in April 2003. I received my Masters in Public Administration at The George Washington University in December 2006. College I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dickinson College with a BA in Political Science and Economics. While at Dickinson I was in Omicron Delta Kappa and Omicron Delta Epsilon honor societies, Treasurer of the Campus Activities Board and the Society for Law and Justice, on the Student Senate, editor of the music section of the year book senior year, and in the college choir. to me during the winter formal in our junior year in front of the entire school. I took some time off, but then went back to school part time while working full time to get my Masters in Public Administration at The George Washington University. I received my MPA in December 2006. Workplace Right after graduating from Dickinson College I started a job with the US Department of Treasury in Washington, DC as a financial economist. My job responsibilities include reading legislation, testimony, reports, and other documents that have to do with federal lending and investment and make sure they conform to Treasury's policies. Basically, I help to protect taxpayer dollars. I have been here for 3 years, and I am also currently working towards my Masters in Public Administration at George Washington University.
