Karen's Story
Life
I have been married for the past 30 years, inheriting at the age of 18, an instant family of 4 children (ages 11, 9 & 6 yr old twins) from my husband's previous marriage that we have raised together. We also added a daughter of our own to our family a few years after our marriage. We are in the "empty nest" stage now that all of our children are grown, but we see them and their families as often as we can. I homeschooled our youngest daughter for all 12 years and "we" graduated in May 2005. We were part of a local Christian homeschool group, and my proudest moment ...Expand for more
was when I presented my daughter with her high school diploma at our homeschool graduation ceremony. It was a lot of fun for us both, and we miss our time together. She went on to graduate with an Associates degree in the Applied Science of Culinary Arts from a local college to become a chef. In my free time I do as much as possible with my 5 youngest grandchildren who still live nearby, and I also spend a lot of time working on renovating our c.1860's house, which is a never-ending project.
