Karen Frogner:  

After graduation I went to cosmetology & barber school and worked in that field for 16 years in Bellevue. I didn't really like it as a career but the money and hours were good so I continued until I decided what I really wanted to do. In 1973 I married Gordon Frogner, from Redmond, and we are still married with two boys Joel (30) and Jesse (28). Joel is married and lives in Portland and they had their first child last year. So that makes me a grandma! Jesse is single & lives near us in Spokane. In 1985 my brother David became sick and passed on, but during a lot of time I spent in the hospital with him I decided what I wanted to do. So in 1985 I went to Bellevue Community College and became a registered nurse. During my last year of nursing school I went to work at Harborview and worked there after graduating. It was a pretty wild and crazy place but loved every minute of it. In 1989 we moved to Spokane, where I am from, and worked at Sacred Heart Medical Center until I took an early retirement in 2008.
