Karen's Story
Life
Well, we can't seem to make up our mind. After 2 years in MN, we moved back to southern CA. We are now in Orange County with our three kids (Aidan, 4, Madeline, 2 and Lily, 1). Although we like to think of ourselves as having more mid-western values, we are going to give this another shot.
School
Ahhhh, high school crushes... I had a TON of them but I was too stupid (and too occupied with a boyfriend) to act on any of them...well, ok, most of them. Favorite teacher? Hard to say. I really didn't pay too much attention. Maybe Mrs. Campbell or Mr. Buchanan...Would I do it all over again? Certainly, and much better the second time around. :-)
College
I enjoyed college, although, I studied more than I probably needed to and I may have had a little more fun had I dated more than the one guy (no offense Shane). It was a go...Expand for more
od time though and I learned a ton about myself and what I wanted with my life.
Grad school was a different story. I didn't study nearly enough and am not sure how I got home many of those nights of partying. I ended up dropping the program after a year to take a risk on a guy (who is now my husband.) It was all worth it in the end.
Workplace
After dropping out of grad school, I taught 2 year olds in a toddler room at a preschool. It was an awesome learning experience and the best preparation ever for having kids! I moved on to elementary school for a couple of years, as well as private violin and piano, before we decided to have kids of our own. I then taught music at a preschool and private lessons on the side. Now, I am taking a break from working as our family has grown and I want to make sure I do my best in my role as parent.
