Karen's Story
After graduation i got married moved to Michigan so my husband could go to college, we had two daughters who are now married and have children of their own. i got divorced and remarried and have two more daughters one just graduated from Urbana high and is attending college., the youngest will be a senior this year. i have worked for different counties for the last 30 years, most of the time i have spent at Clark co. i could retire but want to wait until the girls are out of college. Our house is always full of kids, we spend a lot of time outdoors. My husband is from Florida so we like to go there to visit but never get to the beach, our family keeps us so busy. is really busy in the summer so most vacations are during the off season. I have a new puppy which just shows you i am nuts, two cats who hate dogs. Our home is like a zoo between kids and animals.
In 10 years, I hope to be retired and traveling. I'm going to get there by getting my girls on their own.
The trophies i have are for my younger girls in sports and band, plus my girls and husband competing in karate (all three have their black belts)myself i just could not get into it.
My best friend would tell you I'm a worrier, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as controlling.
MY kids have taught me that life goes on no matter what it throws at you, you have to be strong for all your family and friends.
