Karen's Story

Life After high school, I went to college on and off. Took a break and joined the Air National Guard. Returned from training went back to college and graduated from CSUN. Met my husband who was a pilot in the military. A man in uniform, always my weak spot!! Lived in Tahoe for a few years. Traveled through Europe with my husband for a few months. My husband is now with a major airline (thankfully the only major one that didn't go into bankruptcy)so we moved to Texas because of his work but didn't like it there so we are back in California. We have two great boys. They keep us very busy! We like to travel, go camping, skiing, going to the beach and just hanging out. Hoping to move back to Tahoe someday for good. It's 2006 and we now live in Colorado. You don't have to pay a million bucks for a nice house here! So far so good. The skiing here is fantastic. People are pretty cool too. . Feels like everyone here is from Cali! I do miss the Cali weather, the beaches, Trader Joe's and In-and-Out Burger. My boys are now 8 1/2 and 6. My older one is becoming a fine pianist (did I spell that right?) and skiier and as usual, he is at the top of his class. My little one digs skiing and video games and he is brainy as well!! Until next time... Later Military I was in the Air National Guard from '91-'97. I was in the 146th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. I was a med. tech. For the most part, it was a good experience. I met my husband there! We met in the summer of '93. We have been together ever since. We married in '97. We have two awesome boys. We are both out of the military. He is with the airlines and I stay home having a blast with our kids. I am still good friends with one of the girls from basic training. I keep in touch with one other person from the guard and that's about it. Lates....
