Karen's Story
I was born in California and raised in Spanish Fork. Spanish was a great city to be raised in. I had many friends and spent many nights playing ball in the middle of the street or sleeping out in the summer. I was blessed with a wonderful mother who taught me a love for the arts. I was raised singing and dancing. When I reached High School, I fell in love with theatre. I attended Southern Utah University and received my BA in Theatre/Speech with a minor in special education. hree years. After one year of teaching, I married John Whiting. We were married for 10 years and adopted the most beautiful daughters, Liza and Emily. Though life as a single mother was difficult to say the least, I would do it all over again to have the wonderful daughters I have. I started teaching theatre and taught 32 years and retired. I was able to be with my wonderful mother the last few months of her life. Something I will never regret. I was asked to return to teaching and am now on my second year at Kearns High teaching theatre. There are so many other details....If you want to know, don't hesitate to ask.
