Karen's Story
After high school, I attended Bowling Green State University where I majored in elementary education. After graduating in 1961, I lived in Bloomington, Indiana a year and worked as a secretary in the math department. We returned to Euclid where I taught for eight years and subbed for several. I was in the field of education for 46 years and just retired in 2008. After teachingI elementary school, I then became an administrator in private schools for 31 years. I was the Head of Phillips-Osborne School in Painesville for 15 years - 3 of those as an assistant. I then served as Lower School Head at Lake Ridge Academy in North Ridgeville before moving to Houston, Texas where I spent five years at Annunciation Orthodox School in Houston and nine years at The John Cooper School in The Woodlands. g children and dedicated teachers. Believe it or not, I even enjoyed the parents.
I married after college and had two children, Todd and Becky, and lived in Euclid and Mentor. I was divorced at 40 but 8 years later married my dear husband, Kent. Between the two of us we have six children and 10 grandchildren. Some of the grandchildren are step, etc. but we love them all the same. Life has been good to us.
We have faced many challenges over the years but feel blessed to have our health and such a wonderful extended family. We hope we have done some good for humanity and thank God often for old and new friends who keep in touch. Life passes so quickly that soon only memories are left. That is why it is important to remember the highlights and forgive old grudges and think of those positive influences in your life.
