Karen's Story
Life
I moved away from home at 17 when I thought I knew it all! I have lived in the Houston area since then. I've been married twice and do not have any kids. My current husband and I have been married for 10 years. We work together so we don't have much time to vacation, but he likes to play golf and I like to shop. We have had our wild days, but have settled down now and it's hard to believe we are in our 40's. He grew up in this area and sees his high school friends alot and goes to reunions. For me, I miss the friends at school and have always wondered about everyone. Now with the internet, it's a great opportunity to catch up with whats been going on.
School
I left my senior year and have always regreted it. I started working right away, and have alw...Expand for more

College
I took continuing education classes. First for my GED, then for graphic arts. I was focused on my career so I didn't have the "normal" college life.
Workplace
I have worked since I left home and always supported myself. I have had all kinds of jobs and have excelled at each one starting out at the bottom and worked my way up. It began with answering services, then worked with my first husband at his self-employed painting business, then newspaper companies as a stripper in the camera dept. I was then a graphic artist creating catalogs. I also worked at a sports memorabilia store and now as a secretary/bookkeeper at our family owned business.
