Karen's Story
After High School I went to college for 3 months in Roseville. Things weren't going great between my Mom and I so I moved to Nevada to live with my Dad.
It was there that I met my first husband. We lived in Nevada for about three years off and on, had a daughter out there, then moved back to MN to be near my family.
We lived here for 1 1/2 month when we lost our daughter to SIDS. She was only 2 1/2 months old and it was the worst day of my whole life. I wasn't sure how I was going to go on in life with out my beautiful daughter. It took me a while but I've come to terms whith the fact that God needed her more than I did. I will forever cherish the time I had with her, and I know that I will someday be with her again.
The following June, (on birhtday) I got the best gift any mother could get, I gave birth to my second child, a beautiful son. When my son was 3 1/2 years old I divorced his Dad.
After being single for only a few months I met the absolute Love of my life. We married in 1998.

53 my Dad was diagnosed with cancer, so I spent much of June - December 1999 with my brother and sisters going back and forth to Nevada to care for and be with my died. He died shortly after in Jan. 2000.
After watching my Dad suffer the way he did I decided then to make some changes with my own health. I went on a strict diet and lost 58 lbs, quit smoking and was actually feeling great.
Although that didn't last for long, in April of 2000 I ended up in the hospital almost paralized. Come to find out I was diagnosed with Rheamutoid and Scoriatic Arthritis.
As a family we are very active outdoors. In the summer we go camping and fourwheelin and in the winter we go snowmobiling.
In 2006 I decided to give up driving school but and go back to school. I have to semesters left until I get my AAS Degree in Health Information Technology. I figured I wasn't getting any younger and I wanted to do something with my life for myself.
I currently live in Becker, MN with my son who is going into Eleventh grade and my wonderful husband, and I enjoy every moment I get to spend with the both of them.
