Karen's Story
I've had many lives and continue growing, changing, studying, practicing, focusing. I am definitely a child of the 60's - still love that old rock 'n roll and classical music-need the both! I am peaceful and often overwhelmed with the enormity of my life. Mostly, I'm happy and hope that each day making a difference. I am married to the love of my life and we are raising a beautiful little girl who adds joy to our life everyday.
After high school, I attended U of H - Business Major and Rice University. I started my first company in 1976 in commercial real estate and went on to be the acquisitions and disposition partner of a $350,000,000 portfolio. I have served on and continue to serve on many non-profit boards and committees, particularly in the arenas of health care, recovery and the arts. In my 40s I started a pharmaceutical company Nobel Pharmaceuticals and sold it during a hostile takeover.
Today, I continue to run the John Bradshaw Media Group company see johnbradshaw...Expand for more
.com. I am still in school at the Museum of Fine Arts studio school, the Glassell School of Art in Houston and am a metalsmith, enamelist and jeweler see museumcollections.org.
Recently, I had several pieces in a fashion show at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston for the Society of North American Goldsmiths Exhibition in Motion in conjunction with the Houston Community College - it was amazing with about 800 people in attendance. You can see more of it on You Tube or on my facebook page. Much of my work is sold in galleries.
My husband John Bradshaw and I adoped a beautiful daughter who has lived with us since she was 16 months old. As of this writing she is 4 years old. Her name is Ariel Harper Bradshaw and she is the light of our life. She chose her middle name "Harper" after the adoption on St Patrick's day. We love her!
I have a lot of great neighbors and friends that I don't get to see enough - there are not enough hours in the day. But give me a shout a say "Hi!"
