Karen's Story

I moved to SF in 1979 after pretending to be a Hall Director at URI for several years and have been living in Oakland since 2000, with my husband, Art, and pitbull, Butch who also answers to Mr. Woo. I've been sculling on the Oakland Estuary for the past 2-3 years, I love my time on the water. On land, Art and I traveled widely until Butch came to live with us. He's a bit of a problem child, so our travel has been limited to driving around the US. We enjoy the theater and TV and the SF Symphony and sushi, but mostly kicking back. Big highlight this year was seeing Leonard Cohen (not my f...Expand for more
ather) in concert. What can I say, the guy is still sexy at 70+. My work for the past 30! years has revolved around graphic design. Since the dot.com bust (2001) I've been freelancing web development. Business sucks now and I really am bad at drumming up work, so I've been doing a lot of walking the dog and reading. Just finished my annual stroll through Salinger's published writings which unfortunately doesn't amount to much. Signed up for this weekend at Spirit Rock (Buddhist center) in Marin to learn mindfulness. So, so very unlike me, but I'd really like some peace. Know what I mean?
