Karen's Story

Life I went to Kemps Landing (remember Mrs. Miller and her fetish w/ her feet?!!) She teased Michael Crabtree and me endlessly! Then onto Kempsville Jr. and Kempsville Sr. After my sophomore year the Navy moved us to Alexandria. I really missed Va. Beach and my friends at KHS. My Jr. year sucked!!!! But like a good Navy Brat I rebounded and had a great Sr. year at Groveton HS. From there onto Madison College and a final 2 years in the UVA nursing program! I moved to Colorado in 1979 after graduating. I skied, backpacked, biked and "played" as I worked as a waitress in Aspen(my parents loved that one!) After 2 years I then moved to Denver to work as a Registered N...Expand for more
urse in the obstetrical field. Lots of graveyard shifts but many new babies also. I met my husband at an athletic club in Denver and we eventually moved back to the Aspen area. He was raised on a ranch here and I longed to return to the mountains and get out of the city. We've been married 20 years and have 3 kids (13,10 and 6). We live on the family ranch and raise quarterhorses. We spent this summer participating in rodeo events, locally, and the girls (2) are competing in the 4H horse project. I took up barrel racing this year after watching the girls and their friends ride. I'm totally addicted AND with all 3 kids in school(the first year) this year I plan to ride ALOT!
