Karen's Story
First of all, it is hard to believe that 50 years have passed since we all were in our senior year at LHS! Since that time we've grown up and branched out, making a life for ourselves beyond that time - marriage, children, grandchildren, careers, events that have pushed us all forward, and older! We have all changed for sure but still have the memories and experiences from those days to enjoy and share.
First reunion I attended was the 45th. Fun to see old friends and classmates then. Looking forward to the 50th! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with this special celebration. all the best New England has to offer and I must say I've been spoiled. Just can't imagine myself living year 'round in Florida anymore - more because I, well, just can't take the heat! Spoiled, I guess, but my blood has thickened or thinned, what ever happens when one's body adjusts to a different climate. My hubby Woody enjoys all the outdoor activities as well - he's from Connecticut originally - and we certainly squeeze all we can into our short summers. Likewise for winter..snowshoes, skis, playing in the snow with the grandkids - at least in winter you can put layers on and enjoy what Mother Nature throws at you! Wood stoves are also a big perk during the winter season as well as a stack of good books to wade through.
I'll enjoy hearing from any of my '61 classmates between now and when we gather in October. Leave me a message when you visit here.. It would be fun to connect before the big event. Karen (Newell) Eitel
