Karen's Story

After I graduated EHS, I got married and moved to Texas where I have been ever since. We've lived in several houses, apartments and a duplex before building our own home in 2008 . . . which is located on a semi-private golf course. Thanks to my husband, I am fortunate to not have to work. I have started some side businesses just to have something to do now that we are empty nesters. It's not for the money as much as it is to help other succeed and reach their dreams. Having said that . . . hubby is wanting to retire soon, so it is becoming more abou the money. But my passion is to help others.
We have had two beautiful and wonderful children - Krystal & Derek. And they have given us five beautiful and wonderful grandkids - Krystal gave us Ashley (18) and Carter (2); Derek gave us Parker (8), Braxton (5) and Corbin (10 mths).
I have worked a various types of places since I graduated. A few of my jobs have been as a Secretary, Receptionist, Bookkeeper, Tax Accountant, Waitress, Cashier at a Dept Store, Salesperson at a flooring center and an office manager. Right now I am an AVON representative and a SendOutCards distributor.
Since graduating, I have also had three businesses . . . #1 - a Word Processing business; #2 - a Coffee Service business and #3 - Avon (previously). So my talents are varied! ;)
In June of 2013, I started my business #4 as a distributor for SendOutCar...Expand for more
ds. It is an Online greeting card and gifting service. You will design a REAL card on your computer, using your photos, hit the SEND button and SOC will print, stuff, address, stamp and mail the card (with an optional gift) via the USPS. It's an AWESOME marketing tool for businesses and a great service for individuals that like to keep in contact with family and friends.
My hero is my husband. He has been in sales most of our married life (got married in 1977) and has done an excellent job keeping this family "afloat". :) So I am taking from him ideas to make my new business a great success.

I'm no longer doing Sendout Cards. I still have an Avon account but not actively selling. YOu can order online from me tho.
In 2017, Ted retired and now we enjoy going to the grandkids sporting events . . . Golf, Basketball and now they've added Football to the mix. Other than that, we don't do too much.
