Karen's Story
Joe & I have been married 48 years and have lived in the same new built (at the time) house in Thornton for 42 years.
We met when he was stationed at Lowry AFB and were married at the Chapel there. He was then stationed at Shepherd AFB in Texas. We lived there for over a year. Then we were sent to Pease AFB in NH where we lived for a year. After he had served his military time, we moved back to Aurora, CO.
When we were married over 8 years, we adopted our daughter as a baby and named her Rachel. She lives north of us with her husband Nestor and their 3 children--Morgan she is 14yo,...Expand for more
Marisa she is 10 yo, and Mateo who is 5 yo. Joe and I have been watching the 3 kids 3 days a week since Rachel went to work when Morgan was a baby. This keeps us very busy but we really enjoy doing it.
During the last years of my parents' lives and while Morgan was a baby, Joe & I took care of them. They still lived in Aurora. Joe's family still live in the MA-RI area. He was raised by his elderly father who had passed away during the early part of our marriage.
Joe's hobby is photography and mine are cooking and crocheting.
