Karl's Story
Timeline of after high school:
1981-1985
Served in the U.S.M.C. - My last rank was Corporal (E-4) until my contract ended in 1985. I was just a four-year man.
I started writing Sandy Ballin (Sunnyvale High School) while I was in the service, then we met each other when I came home on leave and dated a little while. She was so beautiful and treated me well, but I was still on active duty and could not keep a relationship. For Sandy: Please forgive me. I never wanted to hurt you, but it was for the best. Military relationships usually do not work out.
Enjoyed the 80's night club scene when off duty.
1985-2000
Started with the civilian night club scene: Paradise Beach, San Jose Live, D.B. Coopers, etc. Finally got my head straight and went to college in 2000, but after I already had started my family. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in 2004.
2005-2009
Left Califas, and moved to Idaho. I worked as a Tier II Help-Desk Sup...Expand for more
port Technician for Albertson's Grocery Store chain headquarters for a while, then decided to change my career "again" about seven months ago. I am now a Recruiter for the IT and Engineering industry, but not limited to. I place both Software Development and Hardware Design professionals.
Still married to the same woman I met in 1988 at a SuperMac Technology party in Sunnyvale.
As many of us have experienced, the United States weakening economy has ruined many lives nationwide. I had been unemployed for over one year and so had my wife. Since I was self-employed in the Recruiting field it had bombed pretty quick when everything started downward spiral. I am happy to say, in March of 2010 I landed a position with PHC, based out of Annandale, VA. The kicker, the position is I am in Logistics and operating as a Special Service Agent remotely. I am being paid an hourly wage, which is much better then bringing in zero.
