Karl's Story
Life
My Spouse: I met my wife Marilyn at a Young Democrats meeting at BYU. I asked her if I could drive her home from the meeting (even though she lived just across the street), we hit it off, and now we have been married for nearly 37 years and have seven children and six grandkids.
My Kids
We had four boys (Derek, Isaac, Aleks, and Ralph) and then three girls (Jana, Kiri, and Laurel). Derek works at Honda in East Liberty, Ohio. Isaac is married and has two boys, Aleks and his wife have two little girls. Jana graduated from BYU in August 2005 and is working in Provo, UT. Nina in Germany in August 2005, and is currently stationed with the Air Force in Florida.
My Job
I am a marketing coordinator at Battelle, a not-for-profit technology company. My department evaluates environmental remediation technologies, mostly for government clients. I do some project management and help to organize large conferences. On the side, I am Music Editor for "The $ensible Sound," a bimonthly magazine that covers audio equipment and recordings. I also serve as a Stake High Councilor in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and as a temple worker at the Columbus Ohio Temple. My main hobby for the past several years has been disc golf, and I still enjoy chess.
