Karla's Story
Hi to anyone that's reading this. I lived in Guthrie until I was 26. Re-married and still young, we moved to the Chicago area for 5 years. After husband got out of the Army, we moved to Mesa Az. I bought a ice cream store there in the tourist town of Carefree, when after 3 years of having my dream, a business man bought the village and raised my rent by double. I couldn't afford it so sold it. It closed shortly afterward. I met my now husband and we now live in small town Az.
I'm not sure how friends will remember me. I was quiet and didn't stand out. Although I did have red hair, few freckles and in the 5th grade I broke my leg and was gone for half the year. After that, the kids started calling me "Waddles", I had a pretty good limp and my last name being Waddell, I earned the nickname and didn't mind it at al...Expand for more

Unfortunatly, I was very unhappy at life and quit school my 11th year. I feel that I went to school every year with those that had graduated in 1980 and I did get my GED shortly after dropping out, that I am entitled to be here. I have group pics of kindergarten and first grade and can tell you who most everyone is.
I never had the desire to do anything else with my life when my kids were young. I was content being a military wife, working and raising my daughter. I now am married to a retired paramedic and live in Williams Az working for the Grand Canyon Railway. I've been working there for 5 years and been married to my life love for 12.
I'm writing short memories on another part of this classmates. They are my memories from K-12. If I have the room, I hope to finish it there. If not, I'll finish it here.
