Karol(Susie)'s Story

Life Last year I changed careers, I am now an Administrative assistant in a large company and love it. Now I take care of big kids instead of little ones. I spend most of my free time playing taxi for my 2 children, but I enjoy it. Pre-teen and Teenagers always need to go somewhere. I hope my old friends remember me as the bubbly person I was/am. I moved a lot due to being a military brat, but always seemed to make friends. I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were not quite right. I blow off steam by going for a drive or reading a book away from everyone. I have never been labeled as a wild one, I was pretty boring. Maybe a little too much partying in college, but hey who didn't do that? If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a clock, water, and pictures of my kids to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I get my inspiration from my children. They are what keeps me going and striving for more. They are the lights in my life. I grew up in the military so I have lived many places: Massachusetts, Texas, Greece, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Germany, and now Maryland. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kristina Camacho, because we have not seen each other since we left Crete, Greece. I guess you could say my kids are my obsession, I love to spend time with them. I also like to read. There are so many books out there I want to read and I would love to spend more time scrapbooking. There have been two big surprises in my life. The first one is that my dad passed away so early in the lives of my children and my daughter has no memory of him. The second is that I am not happily married to the love of my life (who ever that may be). If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a a second floor. My dream home would be a 2,000 sq ft. home. What I am trying to learn from my kids is to lighten up and not always take everything so seriously. If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/2 of it to my mom and brother , then spend the rest on buying a new home, cars for my family and bank the rest for college. I lived in a dorm while attending college in Munich, Germany. I had a great time. We lived in apartments. There were 4-5 of us in an apartment abo...Expand for more
ve the resident organizer and his family. I lived in the same apartment for 2 years. Never joined any Greek system, it was a little different there. To be truly happy I would live in a nice house with the white pickett fence, being a stay at home mom to my two children, and be married to a wonderful man that would be able to support us. Who doesn't want this? My current age is 37. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be settled in their lives and completelhy happy. I was so completely delusional. I changed careers two years ago and love what I do, but I thought I would be a teacher in a classroom of 1st graders. I am not exactly sure where I am going from here, but things are going well at this time. I have no idea what happened to my first crush. Probably living in Greece somewhere with a wife and 3 kids. My best friend would tell you I'm a caring giving person, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a little snotty. I guess you could say I could use some fashion tips. I try to keep up with the latest style but I get comfortable in my old clothes and I don't always think the new styles look so good on someone my size. I don't think I have had any weird jobs. I am pretty boring, I guess. I share my home with my mom and my kids, which I find very comforting. I guess don't really have any of my own. I have a few plaques where I organized a Trike-A-Thon to benefit St. Jude's that I am extremely proud of. I would have waited a little longer to get married. I would not do my children any differently though. In 10 years, I hope to be doing great . I'm going to get there by working hard and trying new things. Although we haven't seen each other since we were about 14, we keep in contact via mail. We meet in Crete, Greece in 7th grade and just hit it off. It was a small community but we have remained friends since then. I don't think there is anything too surprising about me. Maybe that I am not thin, but I never really was thin. My first job was at Shop N Save, where I got paid $5.00 an hour to rent out movies and fill the bulk food section. What I remember most about it is the fun we had and the people I met. Although I hated it at the time, I will never forget the great places I have lived and visited. Thanks, Dad!
