Kate's Story
After high school I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in mathematics. I worked as an actuarial assistant, computer programmer, political organizer until 1975.
I lived in Costa Rica where my first son was born. Upon returning to the US we settled in California, managed a ranch and planted wine grapes for the owner. Two more sons followed making a total of three boys!
Once the youngest was in school I went back for my teaching credential at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Ca. I taught high school mathematics and later worked on mathematics staff development with UCLA and Cal Poly. I retired as Math Specialist from Paso Robles Schools in 2003.

st of Paso Robles. We have released our first wines. We are waiting for final permits to open for tasting. We do private tastings if anyone is ever in California, have a wine club, and are on several restaurant menus locally. My oldest son is our winemaker. I love this business and working with family.
We have an ever expanding vineyard as well as olive trees and make/sell our own olive oil.
I have not been back to Pryor since the 60's. I still have family in Tulsa area but not many anymore. For me there are some great memories of high school and some not so great like we can all say, I am sure.
As I worked in education I did realize what a great one I got at Pryor High School and often used it as a standard for my own thinking on what was "quality"!
Even if we couldn't have school dances.......
