Katharine's Story
Life
A brief bio: college in vermont at Middlebury college. Medical school at the University of Miami. Internship and residency in internal Medicine at UM. Fellowship in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation. Upon completion of fellowship, several years of basic research with NIH funding at the Scripps Research Institute: gene expression of airway epithelial cells in allergic inflammation. Outside interests: mountain biking, triathlons, restoring a 1910 Craftsman bungalow in San Diego.
Workplace
After completing Internal Medicine residency at the university of miami, I spent one year on faculty and then headed westard for a fellowship in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Upon completion, spent 3 years at the Scripps Research Institute involved in basic science research in airway diseases. Now work as a specialist, involved both in patient care as well as teaching and research.
