Caught in a gently turbulent flow right now, keeping my head above water, trying to find the shore to stand on and reorganize myself as I approach a landmark birthday by letting go of everything that made me feel stable and predictable in the last 20 years -- 2 of 3 children grown and slowly launching into their own; 3rd a full blown teener; starting to feel the "orphan-ness" of not having living parents or full sibs; starting to imagine what the single life at 50 (OK, with 3 children I'll never really be "single" LOL) will hold -- more school? Geographic change? New friends or old friends reconnected? I just take a deep breath and place one foot again in front of...Expand for more
the other and see where that slowly takes me as my new chapter unfolds...
I always used to head back to the Lake to mind my broken places, letting the lap of the waves on the gravel beaches soothe my aches away. There is peace for me there -- the sound, the smell of the water, the feel of the breeze through the Pines. Looking forward to Reno in October for the ACTRA Finals and watching Number One (and only) son compete (team roping finals). A little taste of "home".
Community Health Support RN working with low income, medically fragile seniors and people with disabilities. Great job. Raising horses and slowly mending my property and creating a new sense of place. Grateful for the Grace that covers me when I'm at loose ends, Grateful for the Peace that surpasses all understanding. Delighted to be dancing through life with good music around me :-) Hope all is well with old friends and acquaintances, if you are reading this you are probably one or the other :-) (Stalkers can take a hike!)
