Kathi's Story
At McArthur HS I was in FBLA, mainly enjoyed business and art classes. When not in school, I was at the beach, surfing, riding my 10-speed or playing paddle-ball. I worked at Hollywood Memorial Hospital, in the ER x-ray dept for 8 yrs, got married in 1973; had a daughter in 1976; moved to SC, then to NC, 1978; moved back to Sebring, FL and got divorced in 1982; was a single parent for 9 yrs, and in 1991 found my soul mate & got remarried. I worked 13 yrs in banking and 14 yrs in accounting,at a CPA firm.
In 1998 I got involved with an equine therapy program, just starting-up, here in Sebring. We used the founder's (2) horses and (1) mini and held sessions on Sa...Expand for more
turdays at the 4-H arena. In 2001 we incorporated and became a non-profit organization. Around 2003, we were offered 7 acres and in 2005 the barn was completed. We now have (8) horses, (2) minnies and (2) cats. Ebony, one of the original horses used, is still being used at 23yrs old. There are roughly (64) regular participants, including special ed students from (3) area schools that come during the week. It is one of the most rewarding programs I have ever been involved with...
We vacation in the North GA mountians or go snowmobiling at West Yellowstone Nat'l park. My sister and I are planning to go to Ireland in 2015, to meet my father's family members.
