Kathi's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Del Mar College for a year, then transferred to Texas A&M. I was in the Corps of Cadets my junior and senior years before graduating with a BBA in Management in 1982. I stayed in College Station for a couple of years, then I moved to the Dallas area in 1984 when I was hired by Hewlett-Packard, where I did a variety of things. After working in the sales proposals organization for 11 years, I was a technical consultant in the Las Colinas office. I left HP 8/24/01. I'm married to Dennis Seibold, my first and only husband. We have 4 kids, DJ (b. 13May1990), Billy (b. 25Feb1992), Sarah (b. 27Jul1998), and Mary Grace (b. 07Apr2000). My husband and I became foster/adoptive parents in July of 1996, but since we've adopted our family, we've closed our license. My favorite hobbies, besides raising children, include genealogy, reading historical novels, and church activities. I pick up my saxophone every once in awhile, too. I'd love to hear from anybody who attended FBHS, whether or not I ever knew them.
School
Band was my big thing. I was President of the Bluff's first Sweepstakes-winning band. Stage band was fun, too. I was in that for 3 years. I also enjoyed tutoring for National Honor Society. I ran around with Karen Cockrill all 4 years. My best friend was Cecilia Hollenbaugh, with whom I try to keep in touch. FBHS was a great experience for me.

I joined the Corps of Cadets over quite a few objections from some friends and a former boyfriend. I belonged to the Corpus Christi Hometown Club and TAMU Symphonic Band. My senior year, I was in Brigade Color Guard. I graduated in 1982 with a BBA in Management.
Workplace
After college, I went to work for Pilger Tire in College Station, then I worked a year at Brazos Periodical Distributors before becoming a sales rep at YES Computers. In 1984, I moved to the Dallas area to work for Hewlett-Packard, and I'm still in the vicinity. I was at HP for 17+ years. I started out in Credit, then I was a team leader in Field Resource Management for awhile before the Marketing Manager decided to start a Proposal Center. I was a one-person, one-stop shop for a long while, then I hired at production person in Dallas then later in Houston and ran two centers for a few years. Large corporations change their structures all the time, so then I became just a Proposal Manager for proposals all over the country, sometimes in other countries. After a few years of that, I moved into the role of Proposal Engineer (Technical Consultant who writes proposals). Then I moved on into Enterprise Account Services as a Technical Consultant there, which was basically pre-sales technical consulting with some selling involved. Then HP had its first "real" layoff. I had hated to leave my kids to go off to work for a long time, so I was glad when I was one of the ones who got the ax. Now, I'm trying to get a genealogy business off the ground and thinking about getting certified to teach high school.
