Kathie's Story
My Story: Well I moved to carlsbad at the end of my freshman year. I got married right after High School, had my daughter Autumn in July 1980, had my daughter Selina September 1981, was working as a bookkeeper, plus also working as a cocktail waitress. Divorced my 1st husband when Selina was only 3 months old. Married Willie at the end of 1982. We will celebrate our 27th anniversary this month! Willie adopted my daughters, and I became a stay at home mom for many years. I coached Pop Warner Cheerleading for Valley Center for 3 years. In 1992 I decided to go back to school, enrolled at Palomar College, was doing great on the Dean's list, for 3 semesters, my oldest daughter was 13 my youngest was 12, and I discovered I was pregnant. ool in 2011. I went back to work when he was in preschool at Ashworth as A/P Supervisor and later as Staff Accountant. I worked there for 11 years and got laid off last year. I now work as a Financial Advisor for Primerica.
In 2000 I became a Grandma. Between our daughter Autumn who has 5 kids and my husband's daughter Natalie we have 9 grandkids!
On October 3, 2005 my daughter Selina, left to go out to dinner with some friends. I received a phone call at 11:00 that night telling me that she had been taken to the hospital in critical condition after the car she was riding in had went off the road and rolled. She died at 4:00 the next morning. She was only 24. I miss her so much. She was the most beautiful person inside and out! When she walked into a room it was as if someone opened the drapes and let the sunshine in. She brought sunshine with her where ever she went!
And that is basically my story.
