Kathie's Story
Life
A month out of high school my Dad died, so I took a year off before going to MSU. I got a scholarship to the University of Arizona and transfered, ran out of money for school in my senior year and didn't complete my undergraduate degree until 1987. iversity of Colorado and passed the Arizona bar in 1995. I returned to Michigan to practice Indian Law in 1997 and became supervising attorney at First Step Project on Domestic Violence in 1997. I have been practicing mostly in Wayne County ever since and I teach Indian Law at Univ. of Detroit/Mercy Law School.I am now with the Women's Survival Center in Oakland County and doing Indian Law seminars throughout the country.
