Kathie's Story
Life
I Got married the Nov. after graduation to a guy from Brooklyn, NY. We divorced 3 years later. I married the 2nd time in 1986. I have 3 teenagers now. Twin boys-Seniors at Marina HS in Huntington Beach & a daughter who is a Freshman. Both of my parents are gone. I will be divorced from husband #2 in August. I do many jobs-my most professional is a Psychotherapist, I also Substitute teach for the HBUHSD, I am a Home Decorator, a Faux Design Painter, an Artist and a Writer. You name it I've either done it or I'm doing it now!
School
I would LOVE to "do it all over again", IF, however, I was able to go back with the knowledge that I have now, my father used to say the same thing!
College
Right after hs, I was registered to go to Compton JC, then I got a job with the telephone company and cancelled all my classes because I didn't know they would work around my schedule. In 1972 I re-started my college career by going to Harbor JC for one semester. In 1976 I moved to OC & in 1978 I got an AA from OCC in Costa Mesa. nter/Phillips Graduate Insitute, in North Hollywood (my 3 kids walked across the stage with me-they thought THEY had graduated too! They were 9 & 6 at the time.)
Workplace
I went to work at Pacific Bell right after graduation, then quit to get married & move to Brooklyn, NY, (brilliant!). Upon return to CA I learned "keypunching" & worked for Blue Cross for 3 monthes then moved to WA state with Terri Simard, her boyfriend, Bill Byrson, their son Jason & my husband, John. We didn't do well in WA, so we moved down to NV. I worked data entry in Reno, NV, and then came back to CA & learned manicuring and got a divorce. Later I learned data entry & computers and worked for for Base Four in Tustin & McDonnell Douglas in LB & HB. In 1985 I Bought an abandoned school in Norco, right after getting my BA at CSULB, fixed up the bldg. & Directed a pre-school from 1985-1988. I sold the pre-school to raise my pre-mature twins, then, three years later we had a daughter. When my daughter was 3, I went to grad school to get my MA. I have done Subbing & doing Psychotherapy even since. I am finally getting into my first love, which is writing & painting and I'm even making money at it!!!
