Kathie's Story
After finishing high school, I went to UMD and worked part time at Hickory Farms. Then, I spent a lot of time job hunting in Duluth and the Twin Cities. I'm sure we all have good stories to tell about our job hunting experiences. Anyway, I worked for a couple years at the Boys and Girls Club in Duluth, then decided it was time to go on to graduate school.
In 1988, I moved to Chapel Hill, NC to persue a master's degree at the University of North Carolina.
What a cultural experience it was for a Northerner like me to move to the South. It still amazes me!

p at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Never thought I would still be here 18 years later. Nonetheless, here I am.
I've had some incredible experiences here. My most favorite was the 1996 Olympic Games. I spent the entire two weeks soaking up the atmosphere at Centennial Olympic Park, attending favorite events (indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, track & field, equestrian, baseball, gymnastics, etc). The athletes are just unbelievable to watch in person.
If you're ever in the Atlanta area, look me up. There are great things to do here and hey, at least its warmer than Duluth. :-)
