Kathleen's Story
Activities:
At this time my activities consist of RACE CAR DRIVING, MOUNTAIN CLIMBING, JOGGING, WRESTLING, latley I took up SURFING, last, but not least, SKATING.
My daily routine is to race my car through the city as fast as I can (without getting a ticket) so my kids can get to their stuff.
I CLIMB A MOUNTAIN of laundry on a regular basis.
I'm definitely JOGGING my memory at least 20 times a day
I seem to WRESTLE with my priorities daily.
Lately I have been SURFING the internet a bit. Not sure how long I will be able to keep this one up.
But, most of all, I find myself SKATING through life one day at a time. Ok, "THAT" ones not true.
Interests:
Well.....Hummmm.......Ahhhh........Let me see......K....Everything I'm interested in, I don't have time for.
Favorite Music:
I enjoy many styles of music. It depends on my mood. Spiritual.........Mormon Tabernacle Choir
Nostalgic for my childhood......50's or 60's music
Reminiscent of my teen years.....70's music (not hard rock)
Mindful of my young parenting days.....80's(not punk rock)
When my son's took over the car radio.......90's(not rap)
When I got control of my radio again.....40's music, just to get even.
On days when I need a little peace and quiet....static.
Favorite TV Shows:
I used to love sit-coms when they were funny.
The last true sit-com I enjoyed was Home Improvement.
Now I am into reality TV. No, not what you think, I like the ones that promote individual talents and abilities. My favorite is American Idol.
Favorite Movies:
My favorite is .....The Princess Bride. It has it all, and it's not something you have to wonder if you are going to have to mute, switch off, or explain.
I love Father of the Bride I, and II,
Mostly movies that make me laugh and cry!
Favorite Books:
My shelves are lined with the books I have desired to read. Does that count?
As you can see I mostly read parenting boo...Expand for more
ks.
Besides the Scriptures, I managed to get in a few religious books for extra guidance.
I've noticed that as I have acquired more decades in my age. I have desired to read more about history. Curious!
Otherwise I'm loving the classics
Favorite Quotations:
My father use to say this:
NOT KNOWING TO ANY DEGREE OF ACCURACY, I DARE NOT PRESUME TO PURSUE TO ANY DEGREE OF FORM OR MANNER, THEREFOR, I CAN NOT TELL YOU.
A COOL WAY OF SAYING "I DON'T KNOW"
Well, it helped me feel more smarterer!
Besides my favorite quote from my father, I love this poem:
The Road Not Taken
by Robert Frost
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I¿
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
About Me:
I grew up in Southern California. I have a love for children, so it was only natural that I'd have a number of them.
Twenty-nine years & seven boys later I needed something more to do, so I went back to school, got my Associates & Bachelor degree in liberal studies, got a job in the local school district, and started to work in the special education field.
This was just what I needed to build my confidence, and confirm that I have a talent in this field. It's almost like having seven boys prepared me for this job. Go figure!
