Kathleen's Story
I was a choir geek in high school and am still a choir geek! I went to Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education, studying piano, voice and choral conducting. I moved back to Houston, began teaching music and got married in 1987. In 1991 we adopted our first daughter, and I became a stay at home mom. In 1993, we adopted our second daughter, and soon after we designed and built a house and farm in Waller, Texas. I became the Director of Music at St. Anne Church in Tomball, where my children went to school. In 2002, I left St Anne's to work at St. Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands, and we moved there in 2003. I went back to school in 2005 to get my Masters Degree in Music Theory and Composition, and graduated from Sam Houston State University ...Expand for more
in 2009. In the meantime I began working at Sacred Heart Church in Conroe, Texas as Music and Liturgy Director, where I stayed until May of 2010. Most of the music I compose is liturgical and is published with World Library Publications. I am currently doing mostly freelance music work, as a pianist, conductor, singer, and composer, but am looking at some potential full time opportunities. My oldest daughter begins her studies in nursing in the fall of 2011 and my youngest daughter just graduated high school in 2011 and will begin generals college studies this fall also. I sing with the Archdiocesan Choir of Galveston-Houston and I am extremely active in the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM) and serve as the Chapter Director for NPM Galveston-Houston.
