Kathleen's Story
Life
After high school, I went to Douglas College and majored in Art with a concentration in Art History, graduating in 1975. I landed a job with a publishing firm as an Art Director. I married Dan Ihde,moved to New Orleans and then had 3 children. We moved all across the country- New Orleans, North Dakota, Texas & then finally landing in Bakersfield, CA. We got divorced and about a year later, I married Dave Coulter. I worked as a post secondary instructor at a trade school and then got a job at the newspaper as Account Executive and then a Classified Supervisor.I became very ill & had to leave the paper. ess from home doing web design & graphics.. I also now have 6 grandchildren - 5 granddaughters & 1 grandson. My eldest child is a doctor specializing in Interventional Radiology, my middle child has his MBA & works for a large oil company with computer architecture & writing code & my youngest child has her BA degree and now works for her daughter's school. She is pursuing her teaching credentials. David & I have been married now for 21 years. I attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online for an AS degree in Graphic Design to go with my BA degree in Art from Douglass College. We plan on retiring to the Houston, Texas area where my son & 3 of my grandchildren are.
