Kathleen's Story
Life
After High School I went off to work in an office for Avis Rental Car, not long after I was hired at JFK Airport as an airfreight forwarder. My salary had been tripled and I was sitting on top of the world. I ived in Manhattan and danced and shopped and had tons of fun, however, I was not fulfilled so I went on to college and began to finish my four year degree at Stony Brook. At the same time I fell in love with a man and we married. Not long after, his daughters came to live with us and I was a full time mom. I waitressed, studied my college material and kept home. After about 10 years, Joe and I found out we were going to have our first baby. Unfortunatley we also discovered on the same day, Joe had cancer. He fought the canc...Expand for more
er yet he died two years after our daughter was born.
I did go on to get a MASTERS DEGREE in Special Education and a MASTERS DEGREE in Reading. I taught at West Babylon for a short time. UPDATE! I have moved into my own home in Niskayuna, NY. I am now teaching in the Niskayuna High School and have been for the last few years. I love my job and coworkers. I went to Ireland last July with my daughter Krystin. We had a most amazing time together and look forward to repeating the trip. I have much to be grateful for as each day brings me new experiences and wonderful relationships. I would love to hear from anyone as each person I have met in my life continues to share a piece of my history in one way or another. With love, Kathie.
