Kathleen's Story
After graduating from Commack South I did my B.S. in Fine Arts Education at Hofstra University. After teaching art for a few years in the New York area I went to the International Teacher Training Institute in Hastings, England to become certified in English as a Second Language. Upon completion of that program I returned to New York City to teach adult ESOL classes. At that point I decided to take a position at the International School of Dusseldorf, Germany. While I was at I.S.D. I taught visual arts and ESOL at the middle school level. During that time I also completed a M.Ed. in International Administration and ESOL at Trenton State College in Mallorca, Spain. After over ten years of living overseas I returned to the U.S. to pursue a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. I graduated from the...Expand for more
University of Sarasota in 1996. After teaching ESOL at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa and serving as a Core Instructor in the M.Ed. program for National-Louis University I began my tenure at Argosy University. I have been a member of the faculty there since September 1997. As an Associate Professor at Argosy I teach graduate courses in Instructional Leadership. My area of expertise is cultural diversity. Having had the opportunity to live, study, and teach overseas for more than twelve years, I have extensive experience in the realms of cultural diversity and international education.
I presently live in Saint Petersburg, Florida with my partner, Ruby, and our 2 schnauzers- Benni and Ziggy. When I'm not teaching or reading dissertations you can find me out sailing my Catalina on Tampa Bay.
