Kathleen's Story
Hello America & Hami High Class of 1971!
I miss Los Angleles! I have lived in Egypt since 2002. The pyramids are amazing! Come visit!
So now to get you up to date with my life since high school; I attended United States International University (USIU) in San Diego and then Mexico City. The next year I went to Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan, then transfered to University of Southern California (USC) for my last two years of university receiving a B.A. in Public Relations/Journalism. Afterwards I moved to Denver Colorado for a year returned to California and worked for Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. Went back to L.A. to work for attorneys downtown and took acting classes, voice lessons with Seth Riggs, theater arts extention classes at UCLA etc. etc.
However, what finally got me off the roller coaster of no direction was taking a summer class in Medieval History at Cambridge University, England. I decided I wanted to get a masters in Art HIstory. So I applied to art history programs and was accepted at Howard University in Washington D.C. It was a three year progr...Expand for more
am and I received mymasters degree in 1993. Then decided to volunteer for AmeriCorps for a year in their pilot program. I reported to Governor Schaffer and Kathleen Kennedy Robert's daughter), got to meet President Clinton (don't you just hate name dropping!) Wonderful experience. I then applied to a second graduate program for International Education (Instructional Systems Development Bi-Culture)masters degree at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Upon receiving my second masters I was immediately placed at the Tec de Monterrey Universidad in Ciudad Obregon, Mexico where I taught university courses and prepa Art History. I also taught on two other Tec campuses, Guadaljara and Mexico City. Stayed in Mexico for 5 years.
From Mexico I went to Pakistan and from Pakistan I came to Egypt where I am still residing after 9 years. So there you have it. In between all the searching for a life I had a few heartbreaks and tears, dramatic breakups, disappointments etc. Now I am thinking of living in Europe for a while. Who knows....See my Facebook page for photos of my travels.
