Kathleen's Story
My family and I have lived in Virginia, Kansas, Texas and North Carolina (my ex was in the military); but Michigan is home!
My kids taught me life keeps going no matter what happens (good or bad). I've loved being a Mom, but, being Grandma is so much easier!
I was was class valedictorian at the Christian College I received my AA degree. I graduated with Honors from EMU with my BSW at 40. Hey, I did it.
If I did one thing over I'd have done college first, and then got married.
It would surprise people that I find it much, much easier to make more friends, just to talk to strangers is so much easier now.
I'd really like to reconnect with any one who was in Upward Bound at EMU in the late 60's early 70's. I wonder how many of us got degrees (than or later) and what they're doing now.
My favorite way to relax, is still, to get lost in a good book. A mystery is best. To let off steam I conect with a real friend or I journal if that's not possible. I also take long walks and just think.

sitive people. My hero was my aunt whoinspired my volunteerism and the importance of family; both the one I helped to create and my larger informal "family" network.
To be truly happy? Right now I'd say to have enough money to travel with Leo, my new husband. To be able to spend more time with my daughters and their families. These would both make me VERY happy.
My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that I would be a teacher. I was so completely surprised to find I'd still like to be one; except now it would be Women's Studies. My degree is in Social Work, I guess life can be a bit of a cycle.
My best friend would tell you I'm a loyal friend with a sense of humor, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as too anxious.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $75 million of it to my children, then spend the rest on charity (mostly March of Dimes), travel and a permanent home base.
I share my home with my new husband Leo, which I find enjoyable, a learning experience that is sometimes frustrating.
