Kathleen Nickerson:  

Life I was originally to graduate with the class of 1976. I got married on September 28, 1974 to Robert Alan Nickerson and left school shortly after. I left Massachusetts in 1976 when my husband went back into the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Virginia. We had our first daughter (Tiffany) in 1977 in Virginia. Our second daughter (Roberta) was born in 1980. We came back to Massachusetts in 1981 and Robert was stationed at the old Naval Air Station S. Weymouth. Robert suffered a heart attack and was medically retired from the Navy in 1985. We returned to Virginia and I went back to school. I received my GED in 1986 and went to college. I needed some college to enlist in the military at the time. I entered the U.S. Army in March 1989. I was sent to Ft. Jackson, S. Carolina for basic training and Ft. Gordon, Georgia for training in my MOS. We were then transferred to Ft. Hood, Texas after 17 weeks of training. We had two more daughters in Texas. Our third daughter (Caitlin) was born in 1990 and the fourth daughter (Rachel) was born in 1993. I discharged the Army in 1993 with an Honorable Discharge.
