Kathy's Story
After graduating Mayo High in 1974, I joined the Army (ASA-Army Security Agency) for three years and was stationed in West Berlin, Germany. In 1976 I married Kevin McMullen and when our commitment to the military was finished we returned to America and both went to college. We attended SouthWestern A/G College (Waxahachie, TX) and next Oral Roberts University (Tulsa, OK). Upon graduation, we moved to Missouri and founded a nondenominational, charismatic church in Independence. We are currently and continue pastoring Independence Christian Center -- it has been nearly thirty years at I.C.C. It seems unbelievable how much time has transpired -- is it really possible that I'm this old? I am a Pastor's wife and also have a full-time job as the church administrator and the women's ministry director. My faith and family have always been very important to me. d and He has truly blessed me with a good life and health. We have four children (Christian-36, Faith-32, Aaron-30, Lydia-27 and three grand-children (Zoey-5, Alexei-3, Lucas-10 months). Throughout the years I have traveled in and outside of the United States. I enjoy water-skiing, motorcycling, and genealogy research. I have many good memories of Mayo High and the class of '74. I was so very shy in high school but I've changed somewhat in being more outgoing -- mainly being involved in church-- you've got to be friendly . . . . It would be great to hear from anyone that may remember me and also for the ones that may have attended Holmes Elementary and Central Junior High too. Rochester has changed so much since our 1974 graduation and I know we all have changed too (just look in the mirror). Jesus Christ is Lord! Onward we go-- Kathy Vale McMullen (07/14/2014).
